Comments (2)We used to have laminex, we now have stone. Laminex I find is impractical for a kitchen....it stains easily, burns easily and discolours overtime. This is just my personal experience....See Moretrouble matching existing kitchen bench
Comments (7)I believe this bench top is by Halifax Vogel and is known as crea style AR + gloss finish the colour name is everest. I can't be 100% as your image is not clear close up, but I'm almost 100. I will say, from experience in kitchen fit outs, 1000s actually, complementing a dating bench top won't save money, they have to remove the existing top to join the new section regardless, this is time and money on site, often dearer than just removing it and measuring for a new modern decor. Go with a new bench too selection, so it is worth your effort extending your kitchen, invest in a new top and treat it as an investment. If you don't and the end result is not great you risk losing money on this kitchen....See MoreI need help choosing kitchen cabinets colour selection
Comments (17)Your kitchen is a good size but not huge so I would go with gloss white to match in with your lovely fridge. All white appliances. Light coloured bench top in the grey range. Backsplash, I'd go to tile expo, choose something you love and add some colour behind the stove, the rest of the splashbacks behind the sink etc in white subway tiles. Dark floors as you have chosen, all the walls in the house Dulux Whisper White. This is a great colour to go with everything, i use it all the time in my designs....See MoreWhat's your experience with terrazzo kitchen benchtops?

When 1st installed I spilt some lemon juice which created a mark so we are careful not to use acidic items on the bench. I am not sure if this happened before or after we sealed it but I think it’s important to seal any natural stone product and we used the sellers recommended product called “slow drying sure seal” but I won’t vouch for its effectiveness as I can’t compare it to anything. Over all we love the look but I think you need to be a little more careful around natural products than engineered ones so it may depend on your lifestyle...See More- 9 years ago
