Hi, You could introduce some mid century pops of colour, mustard , teal and burnt orange. This could be in your dining chairs or cushions and throws and art etc. I would only go with black if you are intending to have black elsewhere as the floor looks like it could be quite dark. If you wanted to go a bit more scandinavian you could accessorise with pale blue soft greys and creams. The Viva creme suite gives scope for introducing more colours than the darker one but it is important to introduce some colour. Good luck.

Hi Sharon. Wow, you have done an amazing job! The paint looks great and what a lovely cheerful feature wall. The fridge looks much better ther and must be so much better for you having it closer to the action. Love the white cabinet next to it. Also, that's a beautiful window seat. In fact, your house is really lovely, with so much natural light and views to outdoors. It must be a very cheerful space for you and your family. I think the current stove wall would accomodate your fridge (integrated) and pull-out pantries as you have planned. I'm unsure if your freestanding stove will fit comfortable in space where clock used to be, as it would be pretty close to the sink. Unless you plan to have a new sink in diff configuration? I'm just thinking there's not much space between stove and drainboard for sink for you to place things while using the stove. Of course, if a new sink had drainboard running out the left side, that would give you some benchtop space btwn sink & stove. What do you think?

I did mine in plywood and since we put up the panels ourselves the alignment was ... heroically attempted. My solution (NB: I’m a little unorthodox) was 6” high skirting boards painted in a mint green (think old-fashioned ice-cream truck) which I also used on the wooden surrounds for the aluminium windows, which are near-black aluminium called Ironsand. It works with my extremely-NOT-minimalist eclectic style, but it certainly wouldn’t work for everyone. Note: there are major advantages to plywood that actually do make it a cost-effective choice over plasterboard. For one, you only need to choose plywood with 1 good or excellent face, as the other is never seen; second is while you save on a plasterer, you also save on 3+ coats of paint (though you can always paint/stain/whitewash it later if you want); third is that every off-cut and leftover sheet can be used for furniture, shelving, all kinds of things — I built my entire wardrobe out of it by laminating sheets and threading a galvanised pipe through for the rail. On top of that, hanging pictures and light fittings is super easy (no anchors required, just nail anywhere) and it’s almost indestructible compared with plasterboard. I may be a bit of a fan, lol. Just, whatever you do, don’t spill red ink on it — unless you like the old slaughterhouse look. 🤷‍♂️
