Need help with exterior paint colours
Comments (2)I agree about the brick;it's very nice. I also like the green and cream and wheat shades-just not all three! Picking up the green will incorporate your lampost, and might look nice on the fence and porch posts.I like the idea of cream elsewhere, as it is natural and warm -like your other materials -but still fresh. Pretty property....See MoreSuggestions needed for a navy paint colour
Comments (15)Looks amazing heartlyhome Loving the soft pink tile selection!! (insert heart eyes!) The 'Integrity' from Dulux is a great colour to use in a 2pack 'satin' finish, it has alot of body about it and will go beautifully with the pin https://www.dulux.com.au/colour/all-colours#!/colour/dulux_dulux_26392 Loving the brushed gold handles to really finish off the colour combo, I would advise using handles on the base units only, here are a personal fav to check out https://www.kethy.com.au/product/s225-bb Hope that helps warm regards Claire, sB+...See Moresuggestions for paint colours for exterior.
Comments (7)The architecture of your home is wonderful, but the blue is just so wrong in so many ways. "Monument" is a very on-trend colour and is used a lot in contemporary architecture, perhaps too much! It is not the right choice for the style of your home. A lot of your features have carved openings in the timber, and these openings can only be appreciated when the paint colour is light. If you paint these elements "Monument" these features will disappear as there is not enough contrast between the timber and the carved opening, which always looks dark. With so much happening in your elevation, I would go simpler with paint (which your painters will prefer). I would suggest choosing a light monochromatic scheme, such as one of the cool whites from Dulux for all the timber that is currently painted, possibly one of the Lexicon strengths. Whatever colour you choose make sure it works with the elements that you are not painting, such as the decking, the timber ceiling to the porch and the gutter and roof. With your home, the feature is the contrast in light and shade between the timber work and the shaded spaces behind the timber, and you need to make the most of it. Picking out elements in different colours will make it look too busy (as it is now). A simple monochromatic colour scheme is best for your beautiful home - classic, timeless and elegant. Comments (12)The bricks , and the roof , are 'livable' IMO , both are that certain era , but they are pleasant -- like everyone else , the mouse turd must go though . Ooops , maybe its mustard haha . I'd do the window frames and gutters in a charcoal like Monument , or a crisp white -- a bit mysterious , or a clean look , but either will 'sharpen' the lines if that makes sense -- its a bit wishy washy right now . Oh , and the fence that is visible in the pics , and any other similar ones -- again , a charcoal stain . It also references the flecks in the bricks . The garage doors I'd probably go a 'metallic' charcoal . The railings I wonder if they are up to code , but anyway , if they are staying , do them and all the under-eves in a crisp white . So your main colours are now red , charcoal , white , and the greyer roof tone ( but not in equal proportions , so it won't look 'striped' ) . Which still leaves the majority of the mustard -- just go Surfmist or similar off-white with a blue tinge -- keep it closer to a white IMO . That Toffee Fingers is nice in itself , but not only do I feel it doesn't gel , it also introduces another colour group , whereas to me white and surfmist are 1 group , charcoal and the roof another similar grouping , while the brick is the primary thing you see , but it all works together ....See Morenancymiller48
