The small round garden bed within the gravel is the perfect spot for a deciduous tree. You will then get winter sunlight into your home and the tree will block the summer sun. If the area is fairly long, consider 3 trees in a line along the length of the house. In this instance I would choose the same tree throughout. I don't know where you are or what your soil is - this will have a bearing on the choice of tree. But I am a sustainable landscape designer and I use trees all the time for insulating the home the sustainable way. Its remarkable how effective trees are for this. The tree/s can be planted into the gravel, using the gravel as a mulch. Choose a variety with a trunk and a widish crown so that you can walk under the canopy as it gets older. Its a great look.

I would ask the builder about the best solution for the windows in the new ens and laundry as it will depend on the wall structure and waterproofing requirements but it should be more cost effective to install two windows side by side in the old laundry window opening as the windows would need to be ready to install as the old Window is removed and new dividing walls installed ..and, as i would be reluctant to remove the external laundry door, i suggest a tall storage cabinet against the bathroom wall with the ironing board on the external wall and if you decide to lose the door add extra storage in front of the door

It’s the wall colour that doesn’t look nice everything else is fine. Repaint the wall it’s easy and you want regret it , use neutral colours but not light go for darker and for the corner I would plant giant bird of paradise either in the huge pot or if possible in the ground but keep it well away from the wall to give it space to grow and give you tropical look and feel. If you are using pots you can have few of them they won’t drop leaves in the pool.
