We bought 1970s cream brick house earlier this year. We will renovate in a few years so at the moment we just want to spend a minimal amount to dress it up a little little. On the downstairs balcony we have a large window made from the safety glass that they used to use in showers. It's pretty ugly and I am inclined to remove however it looks straight down onto the neighbours deck so don't want to take it out until I have a solution in mind.

As you can see from the picture we have nice views across the park to the water so I would want someone that you can see through if standing at the same level but provides some privacy for us if the neighbours are looking up and vice versa.

Shutters would be the ideal solution and probably something we will consider when we renovate. For now I was thinking of building a slatted privacy screen.
