I love the look- cool, sleek, modern and clean. I think once you add some elements that make it "alive" it will be amazing. I am thinking of a bowl in earthy colour (oak to reference your floor?) containing all green apples or pears; a living plant or frame the children's artwork onto a white frame. One suggestion of change is to reconsider the door handles (if you haven't already built it) as they already look dated. Finger pull and touch spring give cleaner lines. Also I notice that the fridges open the same way. Is it too late to have them with hinges on opposite sides?.

The ashphalt colour bench is perfect as rubber shoes are unforgiving on white & you don't always want to clean up or fight with your children. It also creates "a room within a room", rather than one big white space, it adds dimension & interest.

Thanks for the reply! It's amazing how much having a stranger say the choices will work actually makes me feel more relaxed. Luckily the handles and the fridges are actually not accurate. I've actually gone for a matt black finger pull and the fridges actually open up to each other with a trim kit to make it look like one large industrial unit. So feeling much better about it all. If you have not already made this kitchen I would like to help, it lacks adequate storage for good pantry space. If you need a lot of fridge space I am not sure that is the best method as it takes up a lot of space. The idea of adding the bench for the kids is a good concept but the high back means the kids can't see you all the time and they will end up on your side of the bench so they can see you. Incorporating space for the kids at the end of the island bench would be more functional for both you in the kitchen and the kids would be able to see you move around and feel a part of things. Also how will they use this space kids don't just sit still they will want a bench or something they can use to draw do homework etc. Colour contract of light and dark always looks good. P.S white bench tops are not hard to keep clean and they don't date, the nature of the stone itself is easy to clean.

Trevali your colours are great but the central arrangement looks fussy. suggest large island one level with built in storage of drawers and cupboard with overhang and barstools ...cupboards can be underneath the over hang as well for essentials for the kids needs art and craft supplies etc. you will be able to see and interact with your children. you will also have a clean lined kitchen that will have better aestetics. good luck
