POLL: What is your highest priority when selecting furniture?
Comments (8)I've got a bit of a mixed response on this. First priority is - it must fit. Much as I love things like the Le Courboisier chaise and the Eames lounge chair, they simply are too big for my home. Second priority - if it's a major piece (sofa, buffet, chair, bed, dresser) it should be good quality - solid hardwoods for case furniture, properly constructed (and comfortable) chairs and sofas. I do not want to be replacing expensive items in five years time. Third priority, if it's a lesser piece, I'll sacrifice top quality for convenience, price and good design (IKEA, I'm thinking of you - and thanking you for the leather lounge chair I bought 24 years ago, which is still in good shape, although it will soon be replaced by a Stressless)....See MorePoll: Which room in your home are you most proud of?
Comments (5)That's hard. Doing a total renovation, every room is being done to my complete satisfaction naturally, so I'm loving every one of them and being in them....See MorePOLL: What is most important for your home office productivity?
Comments (1)I have a lovely north facing window overlooking bush. Great to be able to connect with nature while working....See MorePOLL: Does decluttering your home really spark joy?
Comments (40)I love Marie's respect for the things we have, and her practice of thanking the things that don't actually bring us joy for what they have taught us (eg I don't suit that colour or if I don't like the feel of something, I don't end up wearing it). Her system does not generate a lot of rubbish; there are always people that will love the things that don't suit us and will be grateful to be able to buy them at a good price at a charity shop. I have found her philosophy hugely helpful especially for sentimental items which I don't love but felt I should hang on to. She has changed my life!...See Morebargainhunter
