Carpet and wall colour selection
Comments (3)With dark grey floors and light grey walls, I'm not sure how "light and bright" the rooms will feel. Would you consider keeping the dark grey floors, but going with a warm white colour for the walls? Alternatively, if you want to keep the light grey walls, perhaps you could find a beige carpet which has some "flecks" of grey throughout it? I would recommend looking at a LOT of display homes (and open homes) to see what colour combination appeals to you most. If you're really concerned about lighting, then maybe double check your windows to see if you want to increase the size of any of them or potentially include some more windows. Similarly, you could review your electrical plan to ensure that you'll have plenty of lighting (or power points for additional lighting if required)....See MoreHelp with carpet colour... please!
Comments (7)Sorry Cassandra, been working! What about the colour Ridge in the New Sunrise range. It's not as stark as Valley, has a lighter appearance, still in the darker colour range, but with adding wood and copper etc, I think it'd look great and tie in nicely. Best bet is to get your local carpet shop to lend you a sample (if they do that) for a few days and put it under the drapes. You'll be able to see how it looks at night as well as daytime. While you're at it, get a sample of colour Paua in either the Detroit (28oz), Columbia (36oz), Golden Bay/ Alabama (55oz), or Wattle Bay (70oz). The weight is indicative of price, also depth/height, or plushness if you like, of the different names I've listed. FYI, New Sunrise is a 44oz, to give a comparison. I've seen Wattle Bay Paua installed with beige-y curtains, and looks amazing. If you have a darker colour at the bottom (floor) and lighter colours on walls, ceilings, it gives the place a "grounded" look....See MoreCarpet Colour Advice please
Comments (11)Hi Cloudpants, it looks amazing, lucky girl. I'am going to go against the dark carpet only because of all the very large windows it will fade badly around the edges, even the lighter will do the same, this is from personal experience. Tennant's won't close the blinds to keep the sunlight off the carpet, or are they auto, if it was mine I would use the same tile throughout to avoid this plus it's easy care good luck...See MoreSkirting, trims and walls all the same colour... advice please.
Comments (5)That’s a good idea, we’re going to go with painter on the first room, once he leaves we can decide whether or not we paint the trims. More work, but playing it safe!...See Moreangelinasim
