White walls???

Hi guys. Sorry about the messy pic but this is the current colour palatte in our kitchen and living areas. The ceramic tiles are a stone type colour. We want to paint the walls a crisp white, but not sure if it will work with off white tiles and kitchen. And there are 100 different shades of white, all very confusing. Can anyone suggest what sort of white would work here? We're also thinking to bring in a dark grey on some of the walls. All our furniture is either timber, black, white or grey, and in a midcentury style.

Comments (4)The mirrored wall certainly gives you a 'wow' factor and the floor is stunning. I wouldn't do a textured wall paper or metallic, I think you'd end up with too much going on in a small space. Comments (2)The chances of it matching exactly are pretty slim. The finish is different for a start and this can make it all look different under different lighting. Better to not even try.....if you're a bit concerned it as you'll probably continually pick the 'mismatch'.... Plenty of other colours to choose from. Comments (15)Getting a quote on the Grande Statuario. I think it’s going to be significantly dearer than our first quote ☹️ The crispness of the White is perfect with great veining. Second quote being done with main island in the Statuario and with Smartstone along benches under window and into pantry, in case the first is too dear. Took our Lexicon 1/4 and overhead samples with us. Really happy with the choices. 8 years agoYes the top cupboards are a ugly yellow u white colour. We've been thinking of changing the doors for now, maybe to a grey or dark timber look. The walls aren't too bad I guess, but it just everything is an off white glow. The other side of the room is all windows and North facing, so it gets light all day long. I'll post some more pics and will get a sample of the natural white. Thanks for all the advice.

8 years agoA couple of people have commented that they use the paint at half strength, what's the reason for this?
I'll look at an outdoor rug, that could look good. Originally we did want a hide rug, ice attached a pic that was our original inspo when we bought our table and chairs. But with the mess kids make we didn't think it was a good idea.

8 years agoctwalker1967 explained the difference in strengths well. Using different strengths of the same colour can also look good when you can't decide on a complementary trim colour, eg. Full strength on the walls and half on the trim and doors will always look good. Attached are a couple of pics of Natural White in half strength on the walls and ceiling. We went with this colour over cooler whites (eg Lexicon White etc) as they tended to look dirty against the yellow-based wood tones. Hope that helps.
