This is a pic of my floor tile...it is light grey. What colour walls?
Comments (16)I work as a colourist and the easiest method for a upmarket look is to choose an exact colour to match one of the colours in the tile. I would take the tile to a paint shop and get the colourist it match exactly one of the greys in the tile. Make the depth of the colour a light version. All white walls are on the way out. Lappatto tiles usually have some texture as they are semi polished. This is the latest look in tiles as they give a shine without the maintenance of polished porcelain which had been in. They are usually less slippery than satin or polished tiles depending on the brand....See MoreBench top and cabinetry colour to go with mixed colour slate
Comments (24)White-matte cabinets (flat panel, not shaker) and white bench (or maybe epoxy sealed marine ply??...siriuskey can tell you about that), mirror splash. Love the ceilings. I personally would go for a modern, stream-line, no handles, integrated appliances look. This space has real potential to be very cool, even with the slate. It doesn't need any more more texture or darkness. This is a nice kitchen, you should be able to sell it on ebay....See MoreFace brick and slate floors and paint colour.
Comments (7)Hi, Depending on your budget you have a couple of options available to you for the internal brick walls and slate floors. For the internal brick walls you can either paint over the brick in a desired colour, this will reduce that brick look or you can Plasterboard sheet over them giving you a plasterboard wall which can be painted and will look like the rest of your walls. For the slate, I have to admit that in some cases I don't mind the slate, it's a natural stone which is always better than an imitation. However if you really don't like the look the easiest thing to do is put down a floating floor over the top. If all else fails get a much bigger rug which will cover most of the slate and will probably be the most cost effective solution for your floor. If you do decide to keep the slate pick a neutral tone from the slate that you can apply to the walls which will give your interior a more unified look but without all those colour variations. I suggest a warm grey that picks up some of the tones in the floor. The overall effect can look very contemporary. Hope this helps, MKG...See MoreWhat floor tiles work with multi coloured slate for kitchen floor
Comments (4)I’d go with timber or cork. Cork is great in a kitchen. Easy on your feet and joints and things are much less likely to break if you drop them. Especially as you age, tiles cause fatigue if you are standing in the kitchen for too long. Cork is now available in lots of different colours and styles including charcoals and greys that might compliment your slate. It’s not all 80s orange. Of course timber can look great too. Just make sure it’s ok for kitchen use....See More- 8 years ago
