It might sound crazy, but consider charcoal on the walls behind the green sofa - both the wall behind it and immediately adjacent wall too. The strange thing with dark wall colours is that dark furniture visually melts into it rather than your home looking a bit like a museum/gallery space with lime white. If you then place some modern artwork above the sofa it will look amazing against charcoal. To balance the dark walls, just be sure that on the opposite side of the room have some low dark furniture (like armchairs, or dark timber cabinet, etc). Your brick is a nice brown colour. Greys are modern colours that could lift your facade. Monument for your garage doors and trims could work (always use sample pots a test colour against brick True colour) A lighter grey tile might be nice to break up the the darker colours however not too light and keep to more brown undertones in tile choice. Natural stones are favourites. Samples would be ideal to confirm against House colour. You could consider up grading the handrails to glass balustrade (could be a diy option from Bunnings). If it’s in budget straightening the timbers above handrails could help too. New modern lighting either side of door would help to get a more modern look. (Pictured are from beacon lighting)

Hi! We've just been through this issue and like you I initially chose a lighter colour, as I wanted a stone/sandstone look and chose Dulux Tully Grey. We tried it out and it was TERRIBLE! So our painter suggested a darker colour, Basalt which I think is a Berger Jet Dry colour.....Also YUK! It looked blue on our place. Back to the drawing board. We ended up with and are EXTREMELY happy with Dulux Grey Cabin mixed into a Berger Jet Dry non slip paint. I don't have photos yet but it was difficult to get a match with a lot of timber balustrading being painted in Hog Bristle 1/2 and accents of Monument (its almost black) all this against those colonial sandstock type bricks... I don't envy you but dont give up! My suggestion is to get as many sample pots of paint as you can....paint large sheets of paper and fling them around in different spots, during different times of the day, in sunny spots and in full shade. Bearing in mind, concrete paint will be flat and not semi gloss like the sample pots so a little imagination is key. Good luck!
