Hi Karen - the gorgeous floor is SPOTTED GUM - an Australian Species timber grown in Queensland and Northern NSW - it is a very hardwood and great if you have pets or live in a bushfire region as it has a high fire resistance - as well as looking beautiful on your floor. The ATFA website - atfa.com.au has a lot of free information on the consumer section. Let us know if you require any more information. Be Floored Not Fooled - always use an ATFA member to lay your floor.
Hi I am not sure which spotted gum is in the picture but I have since put down spotted gum in my house in the classic grade wide board and it looks like the picture above. I think it was sourced in NSW. I absolutely love it and it does look just like the picture. The wider boards are beautiful. Hope this helps :)
On appearance it appears to be NSW Spotted Gum, though it can only be truly verified with a timber ID analysis. Qld Spotted Gum tends to be a little darker. A very hard timber and excellent as a flooring timber.
