I agree with the sliding door or reverse the door to open out. Masters cabinets, 600 base sink cupboard and 600 open space for undermount washing machine. ( same as used for dishwasher) I would use a tall end piece to block the toilet slightly and frame the cabinets. Then have 1200 of overhead cabinets. If your toilet is old I would replace it but not move it. Back to the wall suite looks neat and may be more compact. As you will be getting a plumber anyway, might be worth considering. As your door is now not opening in, this leaves space for shelving. At this stage you will only have two overhead cabinets and one under the sink. IKEA Molger wall shelf is only 18cm deep, I think any deeper and it won't work. you could probably put one near the window on the wall were the door used to open. And another two on the back wall. Molger also has a over the toilet shelf. My suggestion would be that if you get this, you hang the shelves to match the over toilet shelf. Small but functional.

To Ella Kate Thrupp....."a woven piece"...as in a wall rug or a tapestry suggested by yours truly and Tribbletrouble441452k7 Trek? Or maybe you have a more novel idea in mind? Have you come across any "woven" art in your professional travels? I have a friend who actually weaves tapestries on a loom as they did centuries ago thread by thread. They are exquisite and each a unique artwork. She works professionally on commission Very time consuming, meticulous and expensive and she also does it simply for relaxation and sells them. Wonder would there be anything along this line available commercially today? Such a "woven piece" would make an enormous impact in any room, so beautiful and unique in a bedroom especially if a design woven to order...but Yikes $$$$$. Afterthought...a painted MURAL designed to order might be a touch of luxury if you engaged somebody to do it and they presented you with a series of pictures for you to choose from.....that would not fall down! I did one for a friend's guest donga in Charleville QLD...she wanted a fantasy and had a lot of input herself, it was a collaborative effort and she got exactly what she wanted. Can't go wrong with a mural...can always paint over it when you want something different.

Jesjes my advice is that you don't overthink it or try too hard. You just need to get the balance right which you can do without spending a lot of money. I have a lot of mirrors, all sorts and consoles and lamps, I love lamps. Pity you don't have a power point there or I'd suggest a round lamp base, as large as symmetry allows with a great circular shade near the end of the console, it would take the eye away from the mirror and create a more finished area. The same can be achieved with a largish round matte vase in any colour/pattern you like with some black sprayed twigs or something. You might find vases I'm talking about in an op shop, I have a couple of unusual ones from the 70's and I get a lot of favourable comments. Then you could reframe the horse, I think a fine black frame would be lovely and it could still go on the console, add a horseshoe and the consoles done! You don't really need to add a horseshoe but it would start a lot of conversations lol. The current plant needs to be moved. Good hunting, have fun!

Thanks Margot. I think I've more or less got it sorted. The only challenge remaining, I think, is finding a way to give it a visual lift. It currently has floor to ceiling tiles in a standard size, square, and a very uninteresting colour with no texture - but in very good order. Very dull! I hate grout in showers so I'm thinking maybe some Mr Wetwall panelling or something similar over the tiles in the shower and on the new wall formed by moving the linen cpd, plus on a part wall along the long side of the shower to replace the glass screens that I insist must go (I'm a lazy cleaner and I hate cleaning glass!) Hopefully that would be enough to relieve the dullness of the existing tiles. Then some feature shelving over the new bath tub perhaps. Not yet decided whether to install a freestanding back-to-wall bath or a drop-in, but the latter might provide scope for some more feature tiling or panelling around it. I want to open the room directly to the outdoors but the current window opening is only 1200mm wide and the wall is 8 inches of solid concrete - not easy to cut to enlarge the opening - so I'm looking at either a hinged door with window inset into it or a standard size glass swing door with a narrow window beside for ventilation. My other challenge is doors for the relocated linen cpd, as the existing mirror doors have got to go! I loathe them. As the cpd will be visible from the living area, it needs stylish doors.
