Hi Bree, Our main bathroom is identical to ur bathroom. We r about have our bathroom renovated as well. Is ur toilet next to the bathroom as u walk in the door? We have our toilet next to the bathroom. There is a void space in front of the toilet that also leads into the bathroom. We r moving our toilet forward into the void as a individual room. We r then moving the opening to the bathroom a little further down the hall. The area that was the toilet is being reframed to be included into the bathroom and will be a shower that will be double the size of the current shower. Therefore we have a lot more space freed up with the shower moved for a larger vanity and bath. This was the only way we could keep everything in the bathroom without it looking so pokey. Your mockup scheme is similar to our master bathroom we just completed - photo below. I know you mentioned storage being a concern - our mirrored cabinet has offered an amazing amount of storage in a very small space and also helps bounce light around. I was worried about black taps etc too so we kept chrome fixtures but added in a matte black candle and black potted orchid to create a similar effect which we can change out later on. Our floor tiles are dark but because they are semi-polished they actually bounce around a lot of light and don't make the room feel dark if that is a concern. We also have a huge fiddle leaf fig in the corner (not pictured) which adds a really nice feel to the space - a plant like that could help bring in the outside greenery in your bathroom. Instead of the storage tower you have to the left of the vanity could you do say some floating wood shelving, possibly with baskets added for more hidden storage? You could also bring in the 60s theme with what you displayed on there eg. photos as you mentioned? In regards to the window - a previous house we lived in had a window at about shoulder height in the shower - as well as letting in heaps of light it was amazing for storing toiletries etc!

Thanks for the measurements, there were a few missing that would have made it easier to be more precise, But I'am making suggestions on what I think might fit within the existing floor plan which you are trying to do. the only small extension is to fit the laundry into a shared family bathroom. As there is already a shower and toilet in the current laundry I think it would be wrong to move them as they are close to your new alfresco area for the family to have easy access when you have your get togethers. To try and keep the girls bedrooms a good size and together with the other two bedrooms I suggest working with the fireplace and making the current Bathroom and ensuite but with the ability to share the toilet with the girls during the night. I have added my beloved barn doors to close off the kitchen from the bedrooms and also to be able to leave open during the day for extra light., the planned deck with roof over will make the dining/study/kitchen darker so you might need to consider a sky light. Anyway just a few different ideas trying to work with and around special features cheers

the door to the small study would be through the old opening where the wedding picture's hung and the new door for the ensuite would be near the bedroom entry door and the space between the two columns could be filled in flat on the bedroom side and have tall storage on the ensuite side...as you've already discovered the major costs of bathroom renovations i suggest that before making any final decisions you should first consult a plumber about costs of moving the plumbing...with my latest plan the toilet stays in the same location and the new vanities use plumbing from original vanity and the new double shower could possible use the old spa plumbing with pipes redirected in the new wall between the study and new double shower and then the carpenter would need to be consulted about moving doors and walls...
