What would be a feature colour in bathrooms?

My apartment is very bright. Whites and light grey paint throughout. Kitchen is white and mirror. Floors are light grey oak. But beginning to feel like Eskimo house. I need colour. Bathrooms are next on the list. What could I use to bring warmth, bling and sophistication into the mix?? Need help!!

I'd say it depends on the rest of your furnishings and also personal taste. What colours make you happy? Which ones stimulate you? What kind of feel/atmosphere are you trying to evoke?

Think of the "igloo" as the background, the canvas for your creation. You can add splashes of colour anywhere you want, not just in bathrooms. Area rugs on the oak floors, big splashy paintings on the white walls, colourful sofas or at least colourful cushions, the odd piece of painted furniture, colourful glassware, small appliances and bedding. An all white or grey bathroom would be dull, but put in a strip of mosaic tiles and some bright towels and a bath rug and you are starting to add life.

I don't think I would be game, be sure you really really love it, maybe splash back only .. Just in case you tire of it..good luck, I would love to see photos if you choose to use it. Tiles are really difficult, swinging between ultra boring, tired the day they go in and something out there like what you are contemplating

I'm really happy with all these areas, I guess because I was able to create what I needed and if and when I run out of space, I reassess and downsize. I actually made my kitchen smaller because I felt I needed roller skates with the running around I did in it.

The only thing that is really ugly with this bathroom is the floor tiles and old shower screen. I'm all for getting new shower screen install. Repaint the whole bathroom with tile paint and for the floor get good quality water marine grade merbau timber and put timber decking over the bathroom floor. New shower head and tap fittings if you see fit.

An indoor plant could be enough to break up the glare if you either hang it from the ceiling
