Toilet dilemma for shed/studio/granny bungalow

We live on a rural property in SA and currently have a shed (structurally sound ) separate from the main house - main house has an aerobic septic system. The shed we plan to renovate and fit out (we will do the actual work) so that it can be used as a studio/granny bungalow etc. The problem is we want to at least have a toilet and preferably a hand basin and small shower(possibly); the catch is we are rural and we really don't want to go down the path of an totally new second aerobic toilet system plus they are damn expensive and we don't have tons of excess cash to spend, truly the studio/bungalow will be a do it as we have the extra cash project. There is a very very old composting toilet attached but not inside the shed more like an outback dunny. It is really a bit grotty and we r pretty sure not in working order, we r sure we'll have to get it removed professionally sigh more money.
So would appreciate any suggestions as to what we can actually install for a toilet / plumbing system in a rural setting with No council mains waste removal system and besides an aerobic or septic system - as far as we are aware our local council doesn't allow installation of the older septic systems anymore either. We've looked at loads on the internet but have yet to come up with viable cost effective legal alternatives - any ideas would be most appreciated please.
