Victorian home in Melbourne suburbs extending our Veranda
to a larger L shape. The current veranda floor area is tessellated and is only width of house. The new area will have a contemporary style/features so raised steps, rendered boundary fences (charcoal) and a bluestone cladding feature wall backing the fireplace with pizza oven. Wish to retain use of cast iron posts with lace corners so considering flooring with bluestone edge with parquetry herringbone section either using red based porcelain tiles or hard wood. Once you step down from veranda you enter the pool area with infinity style pond and garden beds. Flooring for this wet area will be sandstone or travertine porcelain tile, so yellow hues in colour matching the rear of house. Please note the house flooring is wood herringbone parquetry red iron bark, so dilemma - do I continue with this feature use to the outdoor; do I use tessellated tiles for the new veranda or is it too large an area to continue with; or is bluestone floor only for veranda - concern the contrast from house to outside may look all too grey. Thoughts?
