The house has a nice structure and a good strong roof. What about a plaster finish in white for a crisp clean look and to reflect the sun. It looks like you live in a tropical environment and you can't go wrong with a white Mediterranean inspired scheme.

I would render that brown right out of my world with a stone grey colour if it was me & I wanted to add value to the house. Then a simple complementary colour on the wooden panelling or strip & varnish it. :))

Try using a virtual painter tool and experiment with changing the paneling, fascia and window colours. Many of the big brand paints have this feature on their websites.

Do you happen to know what brand and colour the brick is?

Brown brick is back in style! The angled cladding is a dated design so repaint if budget is tight or re cladding in blue board with a render perhaps?

The landscaping is needed more than anything else. Spent your money there by getting a landscaper in to come up with a cool design. Or have a browse through Houzz.

I would go for the Palm Springs look: render it (just the the front if necessary), paint all brick light beige, fascia's white, paint the window frames black, then the front door a nice yellow. Not sure about the cladding paint colour - probably same as the brick colour. Then you can keep your tropical plants. Remove the tan bark by the front door and replace with white stones or a nice spikey green shrub. Good luck!

Hello, more food for thought, I think the brick is ok, I'd paint the panelling and the bit that drops down from the guttering, keep it cream as with the eves. The palms aren't in the right position, they need to be removed and small growing shrubs in front of those windows. Doing just those two things will change the look a lot, and then if you're still unhappy paint or render the brickwork. Some flowering shrubs below would be great, I think some colour would brighten it up. I agree with the above comment about paying for a landscaper, they'll help heaps and be money well spent. Depending on your front door, changing or painting that to a bright colour will also make a big change for you and the house !! Good luck !!

Your houses's design looks to have been influenced by mid 20th century Modernist trends. I'd be researching, looking at images of good quality housing from that area. Then I'd be aiming to stay with the style, eliminating inauthentic details that have crept in, and subtly improving where possible. Your alternative would be abandon authenticity, pick a more recent look you like, and make the necessary changes to approximate that look.

I would remove the timber panelling, replace with blue board and render this.

Replace the honeycomb 'security' flyscreens with simple unobtrusive screens and put your funds into getting a professional landscape design and then follow that plan progressively.

I don't care what anyone says that brown brick is dated and looks terrible render it for sure. Then go with what Julia said depending on how bold you are that is.
