Need help to change my dark kitchen cabinets....
Comments (10)Just DO it ! You'll need to undercoat to make the paint cover, so once you have done them in white undercoat, you'll wonder why you hesitated.......they'll look brilliant. You could do them one unit at a time, until it looks right but you'll probably find you want to do them all white. Your suggested colour Antique White USA will look awesome and I too would suggest new door handles - it's surprising what just that change can do for a kitchen. The pendant lights would certainly make an inexpensive change to the whole area - I did it recently when I put in a secondhand kitchen and am super-pleased with the end result considering the awful lime green & mustard monstrosity I started with LOL....See Morekitchen cabinet door advice
Comments (12)Hi Magic M new kitchens have more drawers than doors. They also have soft closers on doors and drawers, as well as full extension runners on the drawers. Your kitchen is therefore immediately showing its age because it clearly has more doors and is probably missing the other elements I mentioned that are considered standard in today's functional kitchen. So it really comes down to your budget. If you have the budget I would replace the whole kitchen with cabinets (more drawers than doors) with a shaker style profile. Custom cabinets to the ceiling. Manmade stone such as Caesarstone benchtops. You could think about the same stone on the splashback as subway tiles are on their way out. If your budget doesn't run to a new kitchen then the Annie Sloan chalk paint as suggested is a good option on both the existing cabinets and the new add on ones. Any of your suggested colours in muted tones would work....See MoreHamptons kitchen cabinetry problems
Comments (34)Yes Yes Yes..... As Good as it Gets.... has the best kitchen. I remember watching it, and kept going back, just to see the kitchen. Actually the whole house was just the best PLUS a great movie to. I ended up buying the dvd just to keep reminding me how good the kitchen looks. I'm in a confused mind as to weither I paint my kitchen cupboards or change the benchtop. You can comment on my site as I have just posted my kitchen last night. So yes, I will refresh my memory by watching movie again. Good luck Debbie....See MoreHow can I revamp this Kitchen/Kitchen cabinets on a budget?
Comments (5)A few of your cabinet doors will need realignment, but painting it may make it look even more dated it depends on your colour selection. Definitely change out the handles and if budget permits change the bench top too. They are easy to install if you get laminate bench top. You could try for a two tone kitchen to test run your colour selection. I'm under the impression the current kitchen matches the rest of the house so if you paint either top or bottom cabinets first and test out if it suits lighting and overall scheme paint the rest....See Moredohraime
