Kitchen splashback - help needed please!
Comments (24)Netty, firstly thank you for posting your question because we are stuck on splashback ideas also and the only difference between our kitchens is that you have opted for gloss on your cupboards and we have gone satin. We are currently waiting on our shi*take bench tops to be installed.... hopefully within the next week. After much googling, hubby has decided that he likes the glass bullet style in a neutral tone (much like the tile you have gone with but in glass obviously) and I am liking the bullet style tile also, just not sure whether glass or a mix of stone, glass etc would work. At least I know we are on the right track now, so thanks again! Can't wait to see a photo when your done (hint hint ;-) )...See MoreNeed help with grey splashback
Comments (5)I'm inclined to say the lighter of the two, as your tiling will visually encroach into your adjoining space, beyond that breakfast bench. Because the tiles will not be installed between walls, with an open end, a dark tile would be difficult to integrate in paint schemes without dating quickly. I don't think the dark would be an issue as far as depth of colour goes, I just feel the subtlety and lightness of the soft grey is more sophisticated in a period home. While the dark grey lends itself to a more contemporary environment. If the spalshback in question was a different layout, ie stream lined or enclosed I would like the charcoal myself, but in considering your entire layout, I would go the other route....See MoreKitchen splashback? Comments (36)Forget subways, really overdone & can look so cheap. The more grout you have the more cleaning you'll have to do. It collects grime ( known in the trade as 'grotty grout' ) & is hard to maintain. Go for glass, the possibilities are endless, from sophisticated plain to funky patterned. Easy care & long lasting. Personalise your space, it looks really fab, love all your drawers, so practical ! Would love to see the end result. Please post pics....See MoreKitchen Splashback - Help Please!
Comments (39)Looks lovely and I'm so glad you're happy with it (and love your little styling touches!) We're about to start building so no pics yet but we're supposed to be deciding already - bit soon for me to get my head around it when I can't actually see it. I was happy to go with a glass splashback but as that can look green because of the glass it's become a bit more complicated! I'll make a decision one day... Thanks for posting the photos - enjoy your new kitchen....See Moremickey1977
