Best bedroom wall colour?
Comments (4)I would Get inspiration from the elements in the rooM that won't be changed, like the carpet. The gunmetal grey sounds nice and gender neutral. For guests, short stays should feel friendly, and have you want to return, I would think hotel and personalize it. I would use a warm grey that will allow for many linen changes, and create a Moody atmosphere by night. BecUse the focus is either the window/ light it can afford the depth of colour. Try dulux exposed elements. If possible position the bed opposite the wardrobe so you can install a tv in it etc create An entertainment hub and still keep the window for view. Floor to ceiling sheer curtains will help the space feel bigger as you seem to have tall things on 2 walls. Good luck. Comments (5)What is allowed will depend on your council, and I agree that developers of new estates seem to get away with everything. I queried my council about this and they said that only "non-living"spaces (I can't remember the term they used), can be built to the boundary fence. They said cupboards don't fit into this category - only things such as garages. They advised that it wouldn't probably be approved, but if I wanted to apply for a relaxation, then I should get my neighbour to state that they are okay with what I wanted to do and submit that with my application. Otherwise, how close you can go to the boundary is dependent on the height of your house. If lower level, you can go close to the boundary, then if the extension is double storey....See MoreHelp with bedroom wall colours
Comments (14)You may use a specific light in the grey on the wall were there are two windows. While the other wall with a long slim window has a wall feature design. There are numerous features to use, with the intension that it would be on the same colour contrast. As was mentioned that the blinds would be great sprayed though in a colour that will go with the walls colour and design. Need to be a balance in the colours for both walls and the blinds. You may use one wall with wallpaper feature if you prefer. I have found a site that may assist you with the design of your choice. http://colorhunter.com/; http://www.resene.com.au/wallpaper/#...See MoreExtended Bedroom wall
Comments (16)That was my point Kate -- I probably didn't express it well . Move the table and chairs towards the garage door / stairs , and it cuts down the flow at that end , and looks jammed in . Someone coming in the front door and along the hall will have to go through the kitchen if someone has left a chair not pushed back under the table ; you come through the garage and slide the door ( not great for noise or heat sealing ) and theres a chair 60cm in front of you ; come out of the WC , along the short hallway , and you do a tight 180 degrees to get around the table and chairs to get to the Rumpus . It is cramped , a compromise . In some respects yours is better than the original design -- the point I was making is that this place is designed as a compromise right from the start , whereas by coming up with an alternative design ( a clean sheet of paper ) it should be possible to start with a minimum of compromises . For example , would swapping the kitchen to the left hand end be better ? This may give more flexibility with the open plan dining and rumpus area ? Could something as simple as swapping the rumpus and the dining work better ? Is the bedroom needed , or is it a guest bedroom used once a year ? Given that the garage most likely needs enlarging , do you enlarge upstairs too ? Or will that go over budget or breach local rules ?...See MoreCreative Street
