Thank-you both for your input! I think I'm tossing up between putting the chairs in the nook or against the long wall. If chairs go in the nook, it's cosy and there's more walkway space as you said, Luke, for beanbags etc. However, what would I do with the 2m wall near the entrance? Would seating there be a bit odd? However having the screen in the nook would allow for a longer row of seating I think? So potentially more people could fit in, although those sitting near the door may have an obscure view of the screen. It seems like both options have pros & cons! We don't have anything that needs to go in, so to speak, although plenty of seating options and tables for drinks etc would be really great!

Direct downlights over your vanity basin will cast dark shadows down your face and make you look ten years older. You are better off with softer lights either side of the mirror at eye height. If you don't believe me then grab a hand mirror and look at your face when standing under a spotlight. Save your money and buy the cheaper 3 in one heat lamp. Don't bother with the downlights over the basin - even though your electrician will tell you that is how he always installs them. Hi Jason, Thanks for your message - my necks getting there, thank you. I think Monument Grey would look nice on the roof tiles and provide a more contemporary feel to the home without changing the pitch of the roof on the garage. Maybe if there was budget the entrance porch could be changed from an archway to a square entrance to make it look less Mediterranean. If there was budget to change to roof pitch on the entrance then I'd consider something more square, otherwise removing the archway would be a good start. With the garage doors- I'd consider replacing or painting them black and adding something different to the columns in front of the garage door such as slate/stone for some texture. If the entrance could be squared off then maybe also consider some stone cladding here in grey/slate too. With the big white walls behind the garage I don't think the black garage doors and monument roof would look too dark. If the roof tiles were in great shape you might consider getting them sealed and sprayed to save some money. Good Luck!
