Agree joins in Caesarstone etc normally can been seen / felt so basically would be limited to 3 metre long bench, unless you incorporated a different material or even the same material, overlapping with a higher/lower bench combo, with the higher one end as a breakfast bar maybe. Have seen that done with black main caesarstone and then a higher white caesarstone, giving an overall 4 metres length.

Have to say though looking at the stainless bench reckon that would be your best option, though to keep it scratchless would be challenging.

Kitchen island I am incorporating in my new kitchen is waterfalled Caesarstone and I'm limiting it to 3 metres to avoid the join. Visited Caesarstone display and they showed me their lunch room bench, and although the join was hardly visible I could still see it and could feel the slight join, and knew I didn't want that, hence the 3 metres limit.

Hi I just thought I would leave a comment about the visibility of joins in reconstituted stone such as Caesarstone tops on islands longer than 3 metres. From a patern point of view; by selecting a style that has a fine grain certainly helps with reducing the visibility of a join. As for the join itself, the technology and tooling used to make such joints has come a long way in the last 10 years; therefore if you use a Kitchen Manufacturer who uses up-to-date stone fabrication methods, then such joins can be next to near invisible. Below is a kitchen we made with an Island that is over 4.3 metres long and has a join through the centre; where the join actually has to be pointed out to be seen.

We have seen Kitchen Manufactures use the two height method but you really don't have to do this to achieve a long island. If you would like a long island, then you should not be put off by having to have a join; careful selection of your material, manufacturer and planning can achieve great results. Solid timber is a great product especially in these situations. No limitations with length. We often manufacture tops over 4 meters long. Look nice with waterwaterfall ends too.

I've always loved the look of Laminex, particularly their Diamond Gloss now, and I've never had a problem maintaining it. The only down, I don't think you can have an undermount sink. With that length of bench though, do consider the weight - will your foundations take it? Also have you looked at the cost if it is necessary to get a crane to bring a stone bench into the house.

You could look at a product called compact it comes in lengths up to 4400mm

the top can be from a choice of colors but the core of this product is always black

and edge profile is 12mm and cannot be mitred

if you can get over some of these drawbacks it offers a very cost effective solution

my stone splashbsck and bench ate 4.6m long. do you think havina seeam would be noticable? bench eill have stove.
