What to do with this space? Indoor/outdoor, deck or pave, slate or bricks?
Comments (10)Are you set on keeping the dirt area for your puppy or are would you consider container gardening? Does the area get a lot of sun? My first thought is there is alot of brick already between the facade of the building and that two story portion shown. But the herringbone paver layout is great. If it were my home I would probably take that Trex decking and extend it over in to the dirt area at an angle and then use pots to make my garden. Really great pots that you can move around and change by adding colorful plants when the season permits and then I would invest in really nice outdoor furniture to make the space. I see you have a small teak table and with a good powerwash it can be made to look new. Then add some outdoor chairs and hang a piece of outdoor art on the brick and that would be a great start but definitely start by just getting rid of all those odd plantings. It will be a lovely retreat. Good luck....See MoreNeed help with choosing outdoor furniture
Comments (25)After all we have decided give the north side of the fence with fresh coats of paint same colour as the rest of the fence for now and pulled off all the plant that were grown under the fence from next door neighbor's garden. On day we went pass outdoor furniture shop and saw this Outdoor dinning setting (expandable) made out of Eucalyptus also saw similar design on Houzz long time ago. We went with this easy maintenance and compact setting. I also planted couple of small plants including nandina at the front, Chinese star jasmines to cover the wall and an yellow and a red Mandevilla on the other side of the garden for some pop colour. Hopefully, the jasmine will grow and give some cover. Thank you all again for your input I appreciated...See MoreNeed help furnishing/styling living room
Comments (7)you could have a desk in the corner I presume you have a computer or something like that, and a nice chair , replace the tv unit with something bigger and enclosed so you can hide all the staff you have lying around . Try to get one with lots of drawers it's more practical and it shouldn't be to low , when you're sitting down tv should be straight in your eye sight. Hang most of your artwork on one wall like a gallery wall (behind the to).A large rug would be nice and maybe one side chair or couple footstools for when you have visitors. Table lamp and floor lamp would complete the picture....See MoreWhat to do with a blank concrete space?
Comments (17)Who did the design and planning around the pool , because thats quite nice -- the plants , the colourful and playful couch , and what looks like a mat or maybe tiles inlaid . The fence isn't great , but it does its job ( complies with the bylaws and looks pleasant enough ) . So why did you just do that blob ? Wooden planters mean you can move them around ( on castors is slightly better , but they tend to pull out after the timber ages ) , get another similar couch and 2 or 3 chairs , build in a bbg or firepit or both , or just have a larger stainless bbq on wheels . Add sail cloth triangle or pergoda , even those opening slats . Add another outdoor rug , some colourful pots , even a bigger chess set ( even if you don't play chess ) . Add corten or alloy lasercut panels . You could even add a TV somewhere near where the round bbq is ( i.e. out of the weather ) . Sure , it would have been bettter to plan in advance , but it can be saved or at least hidden !...See More- 9 years ago
