Need help with facade colour
Hello everyone, we have just recently built our first home. And as you know it is very hard to work out what colour scheme will go great with the house design. We ended up choosing the below facade colour, and it doesn't look great. Can anyone please recommend which colours should we use for rendering. We are getting exposed agg in the driveway(white, grey and black stones). Your input would be great!! Thanks

I'm building a house at the moment and I'm going for the same look you need to be careful with the colour selection as it will make or break your overall look. Stick to greys whites and colours that are used regularly on commercial buildings. Either go really Light or very dark colours to make the timber pop. Comments (27)I guess it depends on your budget , but I'd start with the obvious -- the paint . It looks 'dirty' , so I'd pressure wash . But it does look better in the for sale picture , and I suspect it has been photoshopped . Anyway , if your budget extends , maybe paint that couple of shades lighter . Again , budget matters , but I like cedar or similar timber garage doors , so that would be an option . The door , to me , is the least of your problems . Then I would go darker on the trim . The gutters I'd go the same shade as the roof , and carry that through to the vents , and hopefully the windows . Then the trim that can be seen under the gutters , I'd go halfway between the gutter colour and the wall colour . That would soften things . For a Wow , and before anyone says its a different style , I know , BUT I'd do the 2 fake columns in a small horizontal slate -- that would add a touch of class and variety IMO . 7 years agoHi. I think it's not working as you hoped due to the brown render colour being too close to the colour of garage door timber. A strong contrast seems like it would be better. Attached are some photos of three of the colours that have been suggested to get a better visual. I'm thinking a dark grey would work, even a darker one than shown here.

7 years agoI think this one is Monument, but not sure. Ironstone is another dark that would contrast well.

Also did a grey one, but not liking it as much, to be honest I have ' grey fatigue', it's so overdone.
