New paint and carpet colour with internal sandstock bricks?
Comments (16)Here are the samples, although the camera doesn't really show the colour in it's true form. First up, Ball & Twine. And this is Warm Bisque. It was nice, but too cool for me. And this is Sisal, the wrong colour I bought by accident. I love the colour though, just not here. I am a little concerned that the Ball & Twine was throwing some green (although I love green), but I really love it in the rest of the house. We have those late 1990’s terracotta coloured tiles in the back room to consider as well. that room will have a terracotta, stone, charcoal look, I think, when we are done. Anyway, comments on the samples?...See MoreWhat to do with the brick walls in kitchen.
Comments (22)Reason I asked if you are replacing any appliances is because, if so, a new oven could be installed in cabinet below the cooktop. Do you know if the brick wall where oven currently is located can be removed completely? Is that your plan? If so, this would allow options for additional storage and benchspace. where is your pantry located? Is it adjacent to oven? Good idea to have new island further out to increase kitchen space. Does that mean you would also extend the bench (where sink is located) outward?...See More70s internal brick wall

Otherwise I would suggest you could paint the metal on the staircase to lighten the overall look....See Morefalse wall over internal brick walls

Really power hungry appliances ( 2000 watt heaters etc ) may need new wiring , rather than just hooking into the existing wiring . But like bigreader , I'd look at coduit , extension leads ( if lower power use ) and even multi-boxes -- I have used individually switched brushed stainless 4 way ones ( about $80 instead of $10 beige unswitched ones ) and even mounted them to the wall -- they look quite classy and purposeful . And if all else fails , using furniture to hide leads is a good idea ....See More- 8 years ago
