I was looking for something other than the standard 'coach light' for our home by the coast. wanted something weather resistant - so will not peel/corrode easily/quickly. Looking then at SS/solid brass - liked the styles similar to the Ketch Yacht, ideally - but without the significant price tag.

Though I don't know for certain, I think the cotton/linen shades are removable. I wasn't able to determine this by my searches. This could easily be confirmed by making an enquiry to supplier before purchase. Alternatively, a handmade one could be made removable by making shade slightly larger than frame and making ties.

I was keen on that same light fitting. Was told that it cannot be flush to ceiling or it would be a fire hazard. It is beautiful - perhaps in a little while you won't even notice the bit attached to the ceiling? Otherwise, as Julie suggested, you may prefer to exchange for something else.

I would definitely remove the animal on the floor and cushions. And the Italian pedestal and floral display. Try the deer print on the black wall in the lounge area. Try it on the right hand side of wall at eye level, after you take the pedestal away. Put your tall table decoration onto the white buffet, where the deer was. Can you remove the shiny light fittings that are in the dining room space. They seem not to work. Install led down lights. As the existing lights seem not to be where you have your table. This is my opinion. Everyone's tastes are different.
