@mcom_ie, I have said in many other posts that I'm a neutral kind of girl but more and more I'm seeing colours that drop my jaw like your picture of the entry. Would you mind telling me what the colour is on the walls and the skirting boards and door if that's different. I planned to stick with very neutral colours but this colour is quite stunning. I also plan to have timber floors but don't want the paint to take on a yellow glow from the flooring. As for your original question on this post, I agree with Sophie from Interior Decorating with her suggestion for a bench seat but not a chair in the corner, if you look for the right bench that's not too wide, it shouldn't be in the way but otherwise a narrow hall table or hall stand as suggested by SophieHicks would look great to If you have a little hurricane running around, a simple outdoor cane/ratten bench seat will withstand the rigors of your child and look quite smart too. In time as your hurricane slows to a gentle breeze, you could put the cane bench outdoors and replace it with a bench just like that pictured in Sophie's post.

Hi pallavi the cut out area would be great for the marble table. A large round mirror above it (i just bought one from freedom at a reasonable price). Maybe a hanging macrame pot plant in the corner (hanging from thr ceiling) where ur current plant is......this would be a vocal point as soon as people walk in. Yes a piece of artwork on the opposite wall would be nice to balance both sides. Hope this helps you alittle to get ur creative hat on and just go for it. the only problem is there is no storage as u wanted but you can always put a nice bowl on the console for u to store keys.

Hi Emily, My first thoughts are that the scale is out. The table compared to the mirror looks very small. It may be the angle of the photo though. A hanging plant might be the plan. I would suggest a big potted plant, but I know kids like to get into those too :)

New mirror was hung with great difficulty haha! I like the simplicity of it and size seems to suit table more! I'm still trying out smaller decor, this is what I have settled with for now. The lamp emits a warm welcoming glow when I come home in the evening too.
