Comments (2)If you have some furniture to start with, I would just use the basics for now and live in your home for at least 6 months - 12 is better - and get the feel of the house, the lighting, how the rooms are affected by heat and cold, decide how you are going to live in each room and what your needs will be. This will also help you determine traffic flow, which ultimately affects how your arrange your furniture. It is amazing how many times you can change your mind during this initial period. Most importantly, create your home for YOU, not to impress others, you are the one living in it and happiness comes from the peace and contentment you feel in your surroundings. In the meantime, look through photos on Houzz for ideas, save them in your ideas book for reference and use this to build your decorating....See MoreSubway Tile Design - Stack Lay or Brick Lay?
Comments (12)Hi Ellie These are beautiful tile choices and I have used these in my projects too. The decision to stack or brick pattern is a personal preference. Perhaps the style you are trying to achieve in the rest of your home could be your guide. I agree with above comments that stacked is more modern, brick a bit more rustic especially with these tiles as they have a handmade look with a wavey edge. I would definitely do both the kitchen and the pantry the same pattern or it could look like it wasnt a considered decision. Best wishes....See MoreHelp with redesigning and rearranging my furniture around fireplace
Comments (10)Looking at your photos I noticed you have lots of little artwork scattered here and there. They don’t look right at the moment . If group all of them in a gallery like formation on the wall above your dining table you will have a focal point. There is no need for a frame on each wall, just one focal point is enough. Also there seems inadequate amount of storage in the kitchen, you could add some wall cabinets maybe in different colour to add a bit of interest and height to the room, at the moment everything is on same level. I realised you didn’t ask opinion on this but anyway I don’t mean to offend....See MoreI need help with my lay out in my living room please.
Comments (17)Don’t cut the curtains. There is space to rehang the rod higher. Still leaving them brushing the floor but for the price of a bracket you’ll fix the length problem. Just realised you’re renting. I’d wash the current curtains, you may find that they shrink up a bit and will be fine....See MoreGioenne Rapisarda
