You don't think it looks too far apart? Are the bowls too small?

First placement looks fine to me. Mine are spaced in a very similar way. Leaves lots of room in the middle for all the stuff that accumulates in real bathrooms when they're not being set up for photos in glossy mags.

It will just be one big mirror.

For looks I like the second pic.

Hi Stella, I love your vanity, it looks beautiful. In placing the basins, symmetry is important, but so is balance. Each basin should be centred above the door closest to the draws (as per your second picture). This will provide space to the outside of each basin but also leave plenty of space between the two, but most importantly it gives a sense that this is one piece of furniture which is meant to be together, not seperate peices. I like the first picture. The second picture looks "wrong" to me, but I'm very particular about symmetry!

If you're leaning towards the second picture, then I guess it depends upon whether you'll use the smaller space on either side of the bowls as opposed to having just a bigger central space in the first picture.

Also, awesome cupboards! Your husband did a great job.

Second. The bowls are lined up with the outer vertical lines of the drawers and the gap isn't excessive.

Top one looks like the bowls are too far apart and would be highlighted further again once the fit out is complete.

Forget how it looks! Put both people who will use the basins in front of the cupboard, and pretend to use the basins and/or other appliances at the same time. Room for someone to shave, while someone else uses a hairdryer or straightener? You are having two basins so two people can use the bench at the same time - so find out what spacing works from a practical point of view.

One more thing - if guests will use this bathroom, think about adding a small towel ring near the basins (so, on one of the side walls), so there can be a handtowel for guests to use (one of my pet peeves with modern bathrooms!).

I'd go with closer too Stella, photo 2 wins for looks and practicality. Both users can access a cupboard each while in front of the basin without having to sidestep.
