Hi Stuart. There will be a fair bit of residual heat and the Fire Pit does sit quite low down, about 5cm from the floor at the lowest point What most people do that use the Fire Pit for a similar application is place the Fire Pit on terracotta or similar tiles. This protects any direct heat damage to decking or original tiles.
