Surprisingly very few bar stools from the mid-century were designed for the home. They were more likely to have been designed for cafes, pubs etc etc. The mid-century example shown is by Erik Buch and originates from Denmark.

Hi Sian If it wasnt for the foot rail, I'd thought the stool was a side table and looks uncomfortable to sit on, but try Gumtree - you may find pre loved Vincents for a song. I have white fabric chairs and have had luck with Magic stain remover for fabrics, test on a patch under the stool first just to be safe, once dry , treat with Scotchgard to repel stains,this has saved my chairs, both available at Woolies.

Thank you all so much for your time and fantastic suggestions... I was so confused and couldnt figure out how to decorate the space.. Your inputs have enlightened me with so many new ideas.. As most of you suggested, I think I might keep the dining table and add more wood accents to the kitchen.. I am also considering to change the dining chairs. As someone said, i also think its too much black and the lean chairs is making the dining area smaller for the space.
