These are Magnolia ‘Little Gem’. These tolerate dry spells and hot climates as long as they are fertilised and watered by way of a buried slotted ag-pipe. The pipes help to get air & water down to the soil surrounding the rootball of the tree and encourages roots to dig deep (Commonly used by Councils). Ideally Magnolias like airflow between trees to reduce the chance of mould, meaning they shouldn't be planted too tightly, but trend shows otherwise!
