Splashback hieght- non cooking wall, open plan

I have a dilemma regarding splash back heights for the non-cooking area. I was planning on a white beveled subway tile 75mmHX150mmW (I'm now not 100% on the tile choice now after my mum came over and gave me crap about it), but was planning on running this subway tile half way up the window height (about 800mm above counter top) along the entire bench top. This bench top has an over hang where the tile would stop into an open plan living area near a dining table. What are peoples thoughts/iedas on the height I should run it to (pics attached)? Side in question:

Other side of kitchen for reference:

Thanks in advance
