I like soft creamy colours and some contrast. The first thing I'II do is push the fridge into the cabinetry so it sits flush. (The cabinetry needs adjusting first)
Hi, What I would do is reverse your kitchen! I would swap your oven to the right hand side of your sink and move the 900mm cabinet that is forming your L shape of the kitchen down to the door way. Turn the end 600mm cabinet around so it is facing the front, this will give you more space at the opening of your kitchen
Or you could have a more galley style kitchen and get rid of the L-shape bench. Have it run into the next room (I'm guessing as I can't see how much room you have there) and under the window - perhaps even open the window over the bench so it is an inside/outside bench...
You are right about the fridge! Is there another place it can go? Even if you change the cupboards around it they will still stick out a lot (I'm assuming it is one of those rather deep fridges) and take up precious floor space in the kitchen.
if you reverse your kitchen bench like suggested by Designer Guru perhaps you can move that fridge to the corner ie where the stool is ? then the fridge can be by itself and not in anyone's way? easy to access too?
We can't be sure of your budget or if you own or rent???Are you in a free standing house or an apartment? Do you have a strata title board to report to about building alterations?
What's behind the sliding door? Can the refrigerator go in there? thus creating more storage/ bench space in the kitchen
What is the first cupboard on the right used for?
Paint the end wall a pale colour of your choice (mine would be green!) That will give the illusion of the wall receding - 'bigger' space!
Paint the back of the breakfast bar the same colour.
Remove the doors from the upper cupboards and paint inside the cupboards a slightly darker colour than the wall, creating display shelves. Fill these with collected items to match.
Is it possible to remove one run of tiles and add a feature tile in your chosen colour?or maybe use tile paint to create your own stripe!
Add a bright floor rug with 2/3 shades of the chosen colour.
Always add green, living things. Herbs in pots of your chosen colour.
There is so much pastel kitchen wear out there it's ridiculous! Also bright bench tops make a world of difference to freshen a kitchen. My house mate and I found really affordable kitchen and bench top paint for laminate believe it or not from Bunnings.
