Different Caesarstone on island to perimeter bench?

I'm having a crisis with my new kitchen. I'm having white cabinets under the island and the rest of the bench, which is L shaped. Also white cupboards either side of the rangehood. I'm thinking of having Wild Rice on the island bench and Pure White on the rest of the benchtops. Really difficult to find any photos where this is done. What do you all think? My mum thinks I'll be breaking up the kitchen but I think Wild Rice on all the benchtops is just too much.

8 years agoYou can see it in my kitchen here. Black back bench and white island bench. You really don't notice once its in. Its quite and American design look. If you type in American kitchen it may bring up more inspiration.

Comments (17)Hi I just thought I would leave a comment about the visibility of joins in reconstituted stone such as Caesarstone tops on islands longer than 3 metres. From a patern point of view; by selecting a style that has a fine grain certainly helps with reducing the visibility of a join. As for the join itself, the technology and tooling used to make such joints has come a long way in the last 10 years; therefore if you use a Kitchen Manufacturer who uses up-to-date stone fabrication methods, then such joins can be next to near invisible. Below is a kitchen we made with an Island that is over 4.3 metres long and has a join through the centre; where the join actually has to be pointed out to be seen. We have seen Kitchen Manufactures use the two height method but you really don't have to do this to achieve a long island. If you would like a long island, then you should not be put off by having to have a join; careful selection of your material, manufacturer and planning can achieve great results. Comments (6)It is a matter of personal choice, how much a join would bother you. I suspect if the idea of it already does, then it may continue to do so. Had you considered granite as an alternative for the island? Depending on the piece, they may come in longer slabs than manufactured stone. It would not be unusual to have a granite island bench and the other benches in manufactured stone. Otherwise, Corian may be an option, although I do not know how it measures up to stone as far as durability, etc. maybe worth looking into that....See MoreBench top and cabinetry colour to go with mixed colour slate
Comments (24)White-matte cabinets (flat panel, not shaker) and white bench (or maybe epoxy sealed marine ply??...siriuskey can tell you about that), mirror splash. Love the ceilings. I personally would go for a modern, stream-line, no handles, integrated appliances look. This space has real potential to be very cool, even with the slate. It doesn't need any more more texture or darkness. This is a nice kitchen, you should be able to sell it on ebay....See More
