Comments (2)Nice of you to put such specific consideration into their needs! I would think that timber blinds or white timber blinds (venetians, which are much cheaper than shutters, but can look just as good. Because they are easy to clean, but mostly because teens tend to hide out in their room, sometimes this turns into a cave and they don't really care about opening the blinds each morning, also, they are particularly concerned about their privacy and sense of space, having blinds means they won't ever look messy and the most you have to do is open them up, and if they are tilted a Articular way, they still provide them a private blockout while letting the directional light in. I would also do a timber floor for a both, as they are likely to traipse in wearing shoes that of course are full of stuff from their adventures. They play sports, may spend time outdoors and timber floors scan be easily cleaned, carpets are ruined. As for a girl, if she has different interests, or spends time in her room often, a carpet rug on a timber floor. Rugs can personalize a space, so they have some saying the decor, and easily replaced, maintaining your timber floors beneath, while providing warmth and comfort. Comments (51)The bed needs more pillows with texture and patterns. Add black highlights in the accessories. Also get a lamp for the side table and a tray for accessories etc candles, vase. A few accessories for the desk like a hand-shaped jewelry holder etc. The things that will make the room less boring will be a rug with a visually appealing and exciting pattern (not a solid colour), a chair (the more interesting the better) , new bedding will create a focal point and accessories for the side table and desk. I don't think the room is boring at all ... The doggy is lovely isn't he! There's some really nice elements here. I wouldn't change what you have done apart from the little tables by the bed and then just add a bit to the rooms scheme....
So what about adding two wall lights... Then you can give the bed a bit more space.. You could add a little wall shelf for the book or water.. It then free's up the space around the bed.. Then add lovely textures like wool blankets or throws.. Two nice cushions like bolsters in ticking fabric to define the space there at the head of the bed and it keeps to a charming room that it is....
There are lots of creative ways to add functional aspects which compliment the aesthetic of the room beautifully... such as these lights which are a beautiful bulb wrapped around a wooden bracket.. Maybe some more old framed pics and I think it's gr8! A little wooden shelf with some lovely french metal brackets to compliment.
