Both ideas are great. I never store my shoes in bedroom wardrobes. I have an inbuilt wardrobe in the laundry and two sections are for shoe storage. As soon as everyone comes home the shoes are taken off and left in the laundry so they can aerate and then they get put away in their clear plastic labelled boxes or the hanging shoe shelves (for everyday shoes eg sneakers, work shoes etc.)

if possible swop the entry and garage stairs to walk up to a view through the gallery and away from the master entry... enclosing underneath the second level stairs and extending the wine store wall adds extra space to the pantry, wine store and mud room and some extra space counter next to the fridge for wall shelves or storage for display or glasses and counter for serving wine ...the side of the up-stairs could have open railing with underneath enclosed to allow alternate arrangement for the powder and ante room with an extra door to separate the laundry and powder room from the dining area (with extra soundproofing insulation around the toilet)

Hi, we are living in our old townhouse & would like to replace the old stairs but to do this we know we will need two structural posts with a joining beam to support the upper floor. I dont even know where to start with this project so seeking some upfront guidance - would I need to get a builder to coordinate this, a building designer or a seprate staircase & engineering company of some variety...?? I will attach a pic that a neighbour did (they sold so cant ask what process they went through but believe they were in the trade themselves...) many thanks in advance!

Hi Louise . Thanks heaps for your reply . We plan to enlarge the ensuite in the bedroom and the lounge may be a study or an entrance/mudroom. We don't plan to keep it as a lounge area and may enclose by building walls or using a room divider such as room slats- it depends on costs. We also plan to do landscaping (garden is behind family/bedroom 4/laundry) including timber decking to the alfresco (which is to the left of the family room). If it’s helpful I can take pics of the garden and alfresco tomorrow? Local climate is hot and humid in summer and cool and rainy in winter-I am based in Perth, Australia. There will also be cosmetic changes such as new paint/door handles/skirting , LED lighting and also new flooring (timber in the kitchen and lounge), new air con. The family/ bedroom 4/laundry face North. I have attached a more in depth floor plan with dimensions , is that sufficient? Otherwise I can measure the walls. When I say extend to the left I mean add an extension outside the existing walls. Carport is part of original building. Have added a pic of the front of the house.
