looks like you have the same grey I tried out on my trims lol looks like blue tack grey :) I had to sand it back and repaint it in another colour :)

What colours are your furniture and soft furnishings? and What mood do you want to create in the bedroom? ha ha could be taken lowbrow, but what I mean is do you/your partner want it to feel cosy, bright, modern, warm, cool, etc... colours have an impact on mood...

Fiona..it was my bedroom ..the painting broke me lol so in the end painted the ceiling..walls ..trims all White Dune Half so I could move back in..

was going to do the whole house and since I suck at painting I'm saving up to get it professionally done..

luckily hubby's brother is a painter so just have to save now ..

trims will have to be redone either that or I'll sand it back to give it a distress look ..hehehe it bugs me just looking at them..I'm a perfectionist and well I did poorly lol

will do a feature for it once I've got some time for it..

Those samples look very dark, I'd call them battleship grey. Look in the white charts for one with a grey undertone to it. We used Wattyl Calcium with white trims which looks very fresh with a light hint of grey without it being too oppressive. I am afraid getting the right colour is often a bit of trial and error as what works for one person's style may not suit you. Good luck

We live in a North facing house where the sun can glare through at this time of year. We have painted the bedroom in the front there Dulux 'Self-Destruct' which is a warm grey. We have had many people remark on it. But we have terracotta tiles rather than grey tiles. The best colour advice I ever had was to remember that you have to look at that colour every single day - in any mood, any weather. Before choosing we used LOTS of sample pots and the house looked like an Impressionistic painting - enjoy the process :-)

Thanks everyone for your comments! Currently I have old furniture and accessories that I am going to update, so you could say I am starting with a blank canvas. I have a white chest of drawers and most of my furniture is white. I am not a lover of brown or cream at all, hence why I want to update! Looking for a crisp room that pops against white trims I guess. No real 'mood' in mind. I didn't really want white ceiling, walls and floor with white furniture. But on the other hand, I didn't want the room so dark you don't want to enter! Most of my accessories in the house are bright colours, like blues, greens and pinks etc. (think fun bright colours). I'm going to try some more sample pots this week.

Keen to see what you end up doing! I concur with above re the whites with grey in them turning out quite complex and pretty. But I lived in an all grey flat for a time and while one room is pleasant, all rooms being grey was tiresome. I adore colour and have the dream of having quite dark bedroom colours - fir tree green and another aubergine. It is meant to promote a feeling of deep relaxation to use strong colour, but I'd probably only do it on north facing rooms and if the rooms are used just for sleep and not as a place to study too.
