an easier way to "avoid voids" would be to have a simple L shaped 50cm deep counter on two sides with a small drop in sink and standard wall cabinets with open shelves above and below ...the extra dotted line on the 311 side of my plan shows a tall x 15cm deep x 79cm wide open shelf ideal for numerous cans, bottles and packetsomitting doors would save space (and cost) and give much easier access to the corners and any cabinet maker should be able to produce this arrangement by producing several custom sized base cabinets (similar to this plan) with standard sized wall cabinets and extra adjustable shelves

I took your advice because it makes sense (I'll post a photo of our new plan) I think it's lovely that you and your husband still do dishes together, I quite enjoy doing the dishes actually, but not when my toddler is stuck on my leg. Dishwasher will probably used when we have guests over. It's actually my husband who was sold on the idea of butler's pantry but I couldn't justify it and see the point that's why I posted on here to hopefully see from other's perspective so thank you. We are a young family so always taking the kids into consideration when planning the house. We also entertain a lot, Filipino buffet style, so an island will be perfect! I sew a lot and need a big space for cutting fabric as well that's also why we wanted to keep the island without the sink. We plan to put a barn door as pantry door but we might do that later on after we have moved in and see how it goes or we might even leave it without a door but we will make sure they put in extra support in those walls for possible barn door. We abandoned the idea of window inside the pantry because I figured it will let a lot of sunlight especially it's facing north east and not good for food storage obviously. The only dilemma I have now is whereto place our microwave and deep shelving solutions for the pantry but we're pretty happy with this now. Thank you all

@Megan K, I agree I don't follow the Triangle Theory, ie: with galley kitchens this doesn't apply.. Fridge and wall ovens need reachable put down spaces for food stuffs and hot pans. Cooktops need access to a sink for hot liquids.. Many of today's kitchens have more then one sink so that is usually easy to arrange. Fridges need to have easy access for preparing meals, family and even guest access. For me I do what I feel works for me, having said that I'am lucky to be able to work that out where as others need help like what happens on Houzz OKLouise is outstanding for this and has contributed to help many Houzzers over a few years, (who's counting) it takes a lot of time producing floorplans with such consideration and detail..

So MsWins, To assist with your decisions picture yourself in the mornings, lunch time and tea time, Run through mentally all the various times you are in the kitchen, the things you commonly make, the dinners, appliances you use, spreads you put on and the stock of food you like to keep. Most importantly can you make a chocolate cake while The Man is cooking dinner and Little Johnny is getting drink and snack for mates, The Man is pouring your wine and Missy is getting the cheese plate ready? I can see appliances lined up in pantry with food goods and implements you use above and below, spices in drawers just inside accessible to cook top and app, glasses and crockery in island ready for serving, lunch boxes lined up along island and the children washing the few things that do not go in DW but that you still use even tho they may get ruined in DW!
