Help me spruce up my living room
Comments (13)Yes , my first thought was pretty much along the lines of everyone else -- a large artwork -- personally , I'd go for an abstract with that 'bladed on' look , in either tones of reds and oranges and yellows , OR several blues and maybe green and silver . Go big -- at least 1.5 metre wide by 1.2 tall . There's some cool mixed media ones available for $400-500 on-line , that have bits of tinfoil and corrugated board and the like added too -- certainly adds some visual impact . Add cushions to match , large candles on the TV cabinet in the same colour pallette , and if you're adventurous , get the blind remade or spray coloured , again keeping to the same pallette to tie it all in . OR as an alternative , how about the wall behind the couch in fake 3D brick wallpaper ( reddy/orange and cream bricks ) , and the wall behind the TV painted an earth toned orange -- the white couch and black TV cabinet and white wall / blind / ceiling would would contrast nicely -- maybe add a larger white faced clock with bright red or orange numbers -- you've gotten a vast improvement on a budget ....See MoreHelp with dining room set up, buffet and mirror
Comments (27)Hello Elpi, I really love how you have chosen to display the mirror and artwork on the chosen walls. In regards to the buffet, I think you will find the space isn't blending nicely because it may be a little over crowded. If possible, I would see how it looks mounting the mirror to the wall, and changing to decorations with noticeably different heights. You could still use some of the items that you already have, but possibly opting for a few more that are shorter and rounder, as opposed to tall and skinny. A good place to start might be adding items that are similar colours to that of the artwork. I also, I think this would also help the dining room merge with the living room, which seems a lot softer and doesn't feature as many straight lines. Look for small, rounded coloured decorations, similar to the attached images as inspiration. Good Luck!...See Morelounge set up ideas
Comments (4)This is how it was set up by the previous owner. Looks great just no storage. There will be no tv in the room. The other difference is the carpet will be replaced by jarrah floorboards. Thanks....See MoreLiving room and Dining room ideas
Comments (6)If this is your home now and not a real estate photo, invest in a black dining setting. There are too many different wood tones in this photo. The dining suite is not a tone that looks good in this room, with the light kitchen and the very busy flooring. Without removing the entire current flooring, keep the different surfaces the same colour....black....See MoreTribbletrouble44152k7 Trek
