Feast Watson kitchen oil is 30-60 % petroleum naphtha. This maybe the reactionary problem. Ok time to fix. Sanding back starting with 120 grit and go through the grades...180, 240,320. Sand with the grain until you feel that all the blemishes are removed. Sounds daunting but the first strike with the sand paper is psychologically the most difficult. I'd stick to the Tung oil base and use Organoil danish oil. Brush on rub off with a clean rag. Let dry, sand back lightly, this time with 400grit and reapply oil and rub off. Let it cure for a couple of days and you should be good to go. Livos Kunos oil is also an option and would only take a 120 grit sand, apply, rub off. Let that dry for a day sand with 320 and reapply and rub off. The only problem is it is an expensive oil.

Thanks Julie. That is exactly how I want this to look. We made this wooden bench to avoid buying ready made. I ll check cushion factory. I am considering a beige seat to ensure we can use all colors for any pictures I may want to hang in the background. Though I am tempted to go pink. :) I love the k mart stuff. I am just hoping to get some storage, so the third option looks the best. But this is an outdoor storage bench. You think it would look good indoors ? I am hoping to get something made of wood, so it does not damage. I do like the below , but again its particle board. Also, the coffee table I have will go in the veranda. Lounge Lovers, Ikea and Temple and Webster all have cane interior lounges. Not sure if they’d have the style you’re after. At the higher end of the market Uniqwa Collections have a comfortable looking three seater. Also Byron Bay Hanging Chairs have similar day beds to your pic, and also sofas. You can always have custom cushions made to bulk up the comfort factor.
