Need help with exterior colours / facade
Comments (32)You can get any colour paint you like in any strength - 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 or full - its only a colour, so they will mix it to your request. Have you made yourselves a colour board? if not, you will need to get all your selection colours together and then go to bunnings or a paint shop and get some sample pots of the colours you are debating. (yes it will cost to get sample pots, but seriously you need to do it - and get the varying strengths in the same colour as well). If you are worried about the render colour marking, go the 1/2 strength on the render and 1/4 on the mouldings. Your Wow factor will come with your varying textures - brickwork/render and trims/timber doors, and the wrought iron. I'm guessing you have exterior lighting? some beautiful exterior lights will be the icing on the cake....See MorePLEASE!!! Need help with exterior colours / facade.. PLEASE!!!
Comments (4)I found a website that might be quite helpful for you http://www.colourtouch.com.au/ to visualise what colours and finishes could look like on your house. You can choose a style of house that closely matches yours then choose a number of set schemes, or start with a blank canvas and play around with any colour / finish you like....See MoreNeed help to choice brick and render colour for front facade
Comments (6)We recently finished our new house- we chose colorbond dune for the render and pgh bricks in nickel flash, we love it and have had so many compliments. We got tired of seeing every house with a dull monotone brick- ours has soft greys and brown tones. If you go on the pgh or boral brick sites you can check out different colour schemes....See MoreFacade reno/rebuild - please help with colour and style!
Comments (10)You see how horrible the green looks now ? Even the brown ? That was trendy in the 90's . Grey will go the same way , personally i feel it has . Wood is warm , the steel blue in one of the pictures is underutilised IMO , charcoal hides a multitude of sins . I'd definitely break a verandas look , with a charcoal base . I'd go with natural varnished timber verticals , and be tempted to do a lighter steel blue deck and handrails , as well as the gutters . I suspect the gutters won't even look out of place against the brown roof , as long as they look light and slightly industrial ( steel blue does that ) . You could even go as light as surfmist for the gutters / rails / deck without it looking 'funny' . The garage would be a challenge -- I'd personally try and get an orangy beige to reference the bricks , but that would be tricky . So probably settle for steel blue or surfmist or whatever shade of light silvery blue you opt for . I wonder how long your windows would last painted though -- given their age , I suspect they may have started to oxidise , even if they haven't , they would need a lot of prep . By keeping fairly light colours on your gutters . handrails etc , the windows maybe won't look too bad , as they look a relatively light golden shade . Personally , I'd consult an expert about the windows . Hopefully given you something to think about ?...See Moretyrone_topsecret
