Comments (16)Hi I'm getting pretty much what I think your after. It's from Markilux and one of the exterior conservatory blinds. I had a tough courtyard to cover for BASiX requirements. It has a cassette that the blind rolls into. And runs on tracks fixed with a post in my case. It's not installed yet so no photo but here is a link to the manufacturer. http://www.markilux.com.au/external-conservatory/w2/i1004595/ The downsides of this type of blind is I can't use it in the rain. I had to have it run flat and its large, but if you can have it angled for a run off, I think you can use it with rain. The other option I looked as was a soft Roman style blind that hangs on wire tracks. And it can be pulled over the space. I think there is motorised options too. Good luck!...See MoreBlinds : What's in fashion?
Comments (21)Hi Debbie, The wooden plantation shutters look great for your master bedroom, and offer a good level of privacy for the space. If you are interested in replacing the other blinds around your home, you might want to consider some DIY options which also provide privacy and style to the room. Our Venetians and Cellular Blinds are stocked at Bunnings around Australia, and Mitre10 also stock our Rollers Blinds all of which are easy to install. The variety of material options in these styles are good when considering bathrooms and kitchens, where the wood in plantation shutters might not wear as well. Comments (44)Zaffa, if you pop down to your local Spotlight store, they have examples of all types of blinds and shutters Great to get an idea of what each look like, various options, pricing, etc, etc. Only, NEVER EVER order shutters from them! I ordered mine from them when building and they took longer than the house to make them! Ended up having to use temporary blinds for months until they arrived. Also, they really let a lot of light in, so not great for kids bedrooms at all! Romans and rollers keep out much more light if you don't want to go down the full curtain with pelmet option. You can also go automatic blinds with rollers if you're concerned about boys touching the blinds too much. Adds around $500 per window I think I was quoted, so depends on your budget. Cannot automate roman blinds apparently. Best of luck in your decision....See MoreBlind for entry window?
Comments (33)Thanks oskuee. We have decided to go with obscure glass for the sidelight window as it is too narrow for a blind. For the window, we have chosen a screen roller blind to sit in the window recess so we still have a view outside, when we have it down, but people cannot see in when the lights aren’t on inside. We want a blind for privacy when we are not home, in which case the lights won’t be on. So best of both worlds - view and privacy. As for colour, we have decided to go with a Coal colour with Matt black base rail to give a contemporary look which looks great against the concrete and the rust front door. Happy with our choices. Thanks to all!!...See MoreVy
