need help choosing tile colour to match new kitchen design
Comments (24)I think it is good to mix up the warm and cool colours. We have warm furniture too so its just the walls that are cool. I even have a beige/stone coloured curtain next to the grey wall and it looks so nice. Because this is an open plan room do you think those type of tiles will be too busy? I always go for plain things but i can see how something like that would look really good! This is one big room with lounge, dining, kitchen and french doors that open to a massive decking. I will post a pic of the whole thing when the final benchtop and tiles go on...See MoreKitchen design and colours

Comments (19)Kate - Whilst I appreciate moving the door would be a great idea, it joins up to our laundry and the door is directly across from the laundry external door that leads to the side garden. I will take photos to show what I mean. Juliahocking - thank you for your suggestions. I am inspired by adding in cupboards/pantry on the opposite wall. Regarding flipping the kitchen 45 degrees, I have added measurements to clarify the space, and if I understand you correctly, there isn't enough room to flip the u-shape (although it is a great idea). I have added another (old) picture that shows the entry door, and next to the entry door is a sideboard/side shelf - this is where our butchers block/island is situated - so gives you an idea of the limited space. Old photo: Entrance door on the left. Next to the door is where the butchers block sits, underneath that painting....See MoreKitchen designs and colour advice needed!
Comments (9)Maybe I'm too logical , but you want to keep the 'main items' in the same places , the cabinets are okay apart from a couple of shelves , you are basically stuck with the size , window plaement , etc , so I'd just re-jig rather than spend a lot more and strip and replace . Even the existing colours and the floor seems like it would work already . My inclination would be to cut the 'closest' metre or so from the right hand wall , and do a white pantry to the roof there , have a stainless microwave on the bench , and several colourful appliances ( jug , toaster , coffeemaker , whatever , maybe 'match' it to the lounge suite colour or the artworks or rugs in the lounge ) . Am I too budget ? I'd spend $4k tops , not $24k . . . . . . . ....See More- 9 years ago
