Bathroom renovations - stick to square floor tiles?

We purchased a very long, narrow house and are slowly renovating (cosmetic fixes and maintenance). Our next major inside work is the overhaul of a bathroom and ensuite. The ensuite is long and narrow. I was planning on using Folio Birch Turquoise as my feature tile on a wall in the double shower, with matching white tiles on the wall and grey on the floor.
Ideally I'd like to use ceramic timber look on the floor but run it North/south (longways). However we have vinyl strip timber look flooring throughout the house that rubs East/west. Would it look stupid having the ensuite tiles running the opposite direction to the flooring in the bedroom? Should I stick to square floor tiles?
