How wide is your entrance way? Mine is 122cm and I have a 40 cm wide console table that works. An indoor plant or some sculpture each side of the table reduces the starkness of it too. Otherwise some floating shelves is good to decorate - just be warned, people (especially husbands) do have a habit of throwing keys, mail, newspapers, etc. in this area. I would not consider the darker wall, while it looks great and makes a fabulous impact statement, your bright and cheerful entry is far more liveable on a daily basis. Art to me is the best answer, search 'arranging wall art' on Houzz and you will get hundreds of ideas. You can use paintings or photos, just choose your theme and colour choice. Black and white can look stunning too and as you will see from Houzz photos an eclectic mix works as well. Hi I really like the grey. It is on-trend, neutral and would allow the painting to 'pop.' Perhaps if the baskets were white the whole picture would hold together better. All of the photoshopped colours you have chosen are cool/blue toned and the baskets are warm/yellow toned. I think that is what is confusing you. Also the vase seems too tall for that setting. Try a green plant in a shallow, flat white pot. Enjoy.

Do you want to add some drama as in a sense of arrival. My first thoughts were to paint the handrail and that white post in black, either gloss or matt depending on decor choices. Then a black and white rug or runner, do you like cow hide or zebra patterns? Without knowing your decor style, the vintage cupboard could work with but I think it is too big for the space. So a low bench or console with mirror would be nice with a rug... your style preference will be the guide for all of these. Do you like a white theme on timber with wallpaper for background & black or white for furniture. Is wallpaper an option? Like this elegant contemporary theme. Hi Helen, I think because your garden beds are right up to the door you feel that way, maybe pave an area either side of door so that your pots can sit evenly , add some new plants a little taller to compliment the door, if possible add a new edging and use a stone mulch for a beautiful effect, mass plant with some lush plants , a couple of cute wall hanging plants could look gorgeous
