Help choose a paint colour. I am stuck the room is dark.
Comments (4)Hi Stacey, I know you like the white wash look and the photos you posted were great examples of this finish. No one really likes that dark brick look so why not do the ceiling first after you knock out that wall in the middle & step back in to look at the changes. I'm sure you will be tiling before the new kitchen goes in so after this is done your room will be lighter again. The ugly duckling is becoming more like a swan! At this point you will be more certain of the finished look so before the kitchen is installed do a patch behind where the cupboards will go to see how you like it.There are some you tube videos of the process if you want to diy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkVBm3bitEE And here's a before & after story like yours with a happy ending on Houzz. https://www.houzz.com/discussions/before-and-after-brick-and-dark-wood-transformation-dsvw-vd~3130506 Good luck!...See MoreNeed helping choosing white paint colour for our apartment!!??
Comments (3)We use Lexicon Half on the walls and ceilings of our beach house. We were very confused as to which white. In the end went with our painter's suggestion. Don't over think it!...See MoreNeed Help Choosing A White...
Comments (12)The grey will be another British Paints colour called 'Knowledge'. I just had another look at the sample card and it's a bit darker than a mid grey. It'll look nice, I think (I hope) Here's another photo of a more front on view. We designed the house ourselves. We very excited about moving into it. The short continuation wall to the left is a privacy wall for between the hangar and the house. We're building on an airpark. And yes the front is facing east....See MoreHELP WITH CHOOSING PAINT WALL AND CEILING COLOR!
Comments (1)Well, I'll be 1st to comment(might get ball rolling for ya!). I'm a painter, 35 yrs. Is the Dulux sw1e1? Wish you had pics of swaths side by side. But that's ok. Imo, they're both going to be just fine. I very highly doubt you would go wrong either way, you'd have no regrets. After all these years I know that white, in just about any shade, is going to work with just about any furniture. Except maybe white furniture! I'd have to see the furniture to give more detailed opinion though. If were me, I would want the floor to be dark(ish) though, not light(ish). Try to slap a few pics of some of your stuff on here and maybe you will get some better opinions than mine! And more detailed as well. Either way, I know you're fine with either of the 2 paints. Imho, of course!...See Moreckat0076
