It’s a tricky one @oklouise. The stencilled concrete wraps around the left hand side of the house where it becomes our entertainment area so while the driveway would look great dark and was my initial plan, it would mean the entire thing would have to be dark as their are no breaks in the concrete and as a house that was lets say unsympathetically designed for the block, having the paving dark in our entertainment area would make the whole space too dark. Definitely need to do something with that bloody gate! Might see if hubby can cut the metal to make it straight.

the house looks fine.... it's the collection of gas bottles and AC that looks ugly...in a similar situation i painted the AC and water heater and pipes but check with gas suppliers about painting gas tanks (and don't cover any labels or instructions) just paint everything you don't like a colour to blend with the bricks (it will be easier to take the blind down and paint on the ground and then hang back up if you need to keep the screens) then have a think about the landscaping

Therefore for your scenario, I would recommend 1100mm. Think of someone standing at the cook top, and someone standing at the sink, at the same time. Or assuming the oven is under the cooktop, can the oven door be opened and someone still be able to safely walk past the fully open door, since it is also opposite the sink.?? It depends on your family and how many people would use the kitchen at one time. I have 1300mm, and that is perfect for a busy kitchen.
