The biggest issue that I can see with this room is that you've not used luxury feeling/looking soft furnishings and you don't have a third colour to tie the room together - the third colour is always the least prominent colour but will help you pull the room together subtly (my bedroom is all cream as the main colour,- walls, furniture, quilt cover and european pillow; the secondary colour is a warm beige - in cushions and then the third colour - the accent colour is black which is in the lampshades, a couple of décor pieces such as a ginger jar and the framed art). If you're in Sydney, check out KAZ warehouse in Alexandria (top quality, cheap price) or if you or a friend is handy with a sewing machine, slubbed silk polyesters are easy to sew, and look amazing at a really reasonable price).

Remove the printed pillow cases and doona cover and replace them with a single colour - mercerised cotton - it has a slight sheen which helps with the luxury look with all the ease of cotton. The patterned bed linen you've got is nice, but with the style of room you're aiming for it looks too beachy/casual for your purposes (give it to the second bedroom or stash it away).

Look at adding décor cushions for the bed in warm rich colours and textures - fur, beaded, satin, quilted works beautifully (solid colours with different textures are a lot easier to mix and make look expensive then printed patterns - not to mention cheaper to change up when you feel the need).

Change your light bulbs to the warmest white light you can get (try speciality lighting stores) - yellow light (warm light) feels warm, soothing and intimate, where cool light can tend to feel cold/harsh. The trick to making a room look cozy is to have areas that are shadowy and others that are lighter - so when you're staging your room to be used, make sure that you select which lights you turn on - ie., use only the wall sconces or the table lamp and avoid using the ceiling lights.

Artwork and accessories will instantly make your space feel more intimate and comfortable - keep them in tone with your colour scheme but items that reflect your tastes.

Matching bedside tables not only perform as storage but will ground your bed area.

If budget allows, look at getting a small but comfortable and stylish bedroom chair (keep it cream and then add your colours using cushions) - it adds intimacy and luxury and is a space to curl up on.
